Content Marketing Manager (EN)
About the role
As a Content Marketing Manager, you’ll be involved in creating high-quality content as well as developing advanced content strategies, ensuring that Unmuted's clients successfully implement them.
Think of strategies that encompass a holistic mix of SEO blog articles, customer case studies, short videos, and social content series, all the way to designing the site architecture for the ultimate B2B SaaS website.
You enjoy doing research and carefully studying target audiences. You do this with the help of a smart set of tools. Writing and playing with words is something you find so enjoyable that you could do it all day, every day.
Within the Content Team, you pick up a variety of projects, together with your colleagues. Aside from that, you work together with a Demand Marketing Manager who has a (promotional) plan for the content and strategies you create.
This role is extremely hands-on. This means that, after you’ve familiarized yourself with our content marketing principles, you can get started straight away. Both for our customers and for Unmuted as a company. You’ll learn a whole lot very quickly, enabling you to independently manage client communications in no time, discussing how their content strategies can be best implemented. You’ll also be reporting to clients on both successful and less successful experiments, providing insight into where adjustments might be needed.
About us
The world of B2B marketing is changing faster than ever before. With the introduction of privacy regulations, the rise of new social media channels, the accessibility of knowledge, and new business models, the way people find inspiration and buy products and services has drastically shifted. However, B2B still carries a “boring” reputation, weighed down by whitepapers, webinars, and superficial blogs. We aim to shake that up with a fresh perspective.
With a passionate team of experienced marketing professionals, at Unmuted we’re developing the new B2B marketing playbook on a daily basis. We make sure we stay at the forefront when it comes to modern, impactful B2B marketing.
We currently work with a fantastic portfolio of promising startups and successful scale-ups in the SaaS domain. We help them develop and optimize their GTM engine (in other words, their marketing machine). This includes setting up ad campaigns, creating lots of content, and building out awesome websites.
About you
You love playing with words and visuals, but always with a commercial goal in mind. You have a background in journalism, communications, linguistics, or you're simply passionate about doing something with language (that’s fine too, of course).
Additionally, you have at least 3 years of highly relevant work experience in content marketing within SaaS, for example at a startup or scale-up. It’s even better if you already have a lot of experience with copywriting, messaging, or independently cooking up entire content strategies. As a native English speaker, it goes without saying that you speak and write flawless English. Being fluent in (professional) Dutch would be an additional bonus.
Things you’ll learn about and get practical experience in:
- Content marketing - from the basics to advanced, cutting-edge ideas
- Copywriting - an ever-evolving muscle you’ll want to keep flexing
- SEO - hacking search engine results to make sure your content always ranks #1
- Advertising - writing ad copy for Google, socials, and display ads that convert and generate revenue
- Email marketing - writing both outbound, cold email copy, as well as newsletters and transactional emails
- LinkedIn marketing - crafting LinkedIn posts is incredibly valuable, especially in B2B marketing
- Automation - work smart, not hard, and let automation handle the tasks when needed
- Analytics - to really understand if your content is performing, you’ll need to dive into data analytics
- Design - content isn’t just written, it’s also visual. You’ll also occasionally produce webinars or video scripts
- Tools - modern content creators know better than anyone which smart tools help them achieve their goals faster
Your workweek
We kick off the week with the Client Weekly. During this tactical meeting, we review ongoing projects and set the focus for each client.
Some days, you’ll work on writing blog articles. Other days, you’ll be conducting interviews, creating social posts for LinkedIn, and reviewing subtitles for short video clips.
Throughout the week, you’ll collaborate with our Demand Marketing Managers when their clients need content. You'll work closely with the Head of Content Marketing.
If you’re working in the office, we typically have lunch around 12:00 and take our time for it. A short walk after lunch? Always a good idea. You'll usually be back at your desk by 1:00 PM.
If you’re working from home, you have the flexibility to set your own hours, as long as there’s enough overlap with a regular workweek and you're available for the daily start meeting.
On Fridays, we often finish work a bit earlier. If you’re up for it, you can grab a drink with colleagues at the office or at a nearby pub. But feel free to head home and kick off your weekend however you like.
